The utopian town, rechristened Frackpool, features 35 fracking stations that use pressurized water to release natural gases, and then recirculate the water back around the town, where it gets treated and used for urban farming. Residents are relocated out of the city center in lieu of fracking infrastructure. They now call floating villages home, with desirable amenities like urban greenhouses and fish markets.
Soft landscaping helps mitigate the sound of industry, something that past industrial cities have not had designed into them. The chemical seepage and pollution are not addressed in the scheme.
After the fracking industry has depleted the buried natural gas resources, the infrastructure is designed to transform into fish farms by reusing the gas tanks.
